I Cannot Change Human Nature (Watchmen 2009)

1.
My father was a watchmaker.
He abandoned it when
Einstein discovered time is relative.
I would only agree that
A symbolic clock is as nourishing to the intellect
As a photograph of oxygen to a drowning man.

2.
Perhaps the world is not made.
Perhaps nothing is made.

3.
Even if I wanted to help,
my future is blocked.

4.
Im tired of earth,
These people
Im tired of being caught,
In the tangle of their  lives.

5.
But you, Adrian…are just a man.
The world’s smartest man poses no greater threat to me
than does its smartest termite

6.
Why would I save a world I no longer have any stake in?

7.
I can change almost anything…
But…I can’t change human nature.

‘The Cradle Of Civilization’ By Lowkey feat Mai Khalil

Song: ‘The Cradle Of Civilization’
Artist: Lowkey featuring Mai Khalil
Album: ‘Soundtrack To The Struggle.’

(Excerpted from the lyrics)

Introduction (Talking):
I remember when I was growing up,
If my mother got angry or frustrated with me,
She’d say:
‘oy shked helwa el horiya’

And the basic translation of that is:
‘oh, how beautiful is freedom?’
But where is freedom?

… I never picked up a grenade in my garden,
I never saw people I love die starving,
I never saw my family die through many years of sanctions,
While the rulers family lived in palaces and mansions,
Never had a family member kidnapped for a ransom,
Never lost a friend to violence that was random,
Bombings,
Occupation,
Torture,
Intimidation,
A million dead people DOESNT equal liberation!!

Forget division based on
Ethnicity or religion,
Whether you are:
Sunni,
Shia,
Kurdish
Christian,
Pain is just pain if a person is missing,
We all deserve a life
In this earth that we live in.
Its not about…
Pity,
Hand outs,
Sympathy,

Its about…
PRIDE
RESPECT
HONOR
And DIGNITY,

This is for those…
That won’t live to see the future,
Sorry that I wasn’t there,
Sorry that I couldn’t help,
I’m sorry for every tear,
I’m sorry
You’ve been put through hell…

Still I rep, till my death,
Till they kill and seal my flesh,
From now all the way back to Gilgamesh,
Such a villainized and criticized nation,
You will always be…
THE CRADLE OF CIVILIZATION
(Excerpted From The Lyrics)

‘IF’ By Rudyard Kipling

Poem By Rudyard Kipling
Read by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

‘IF’

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream – and not make dreams your master;
If you can think – and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with wornout tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: “Hold on”;

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings – nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run –
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And – which is more –

you’ll be a Man my son!

As my bestfriend taught me about LIFE:
That it is always about the JOURNEY AND NOT about the DESTINATION:

 “The road of life twists and turns
And no two directions are ever the same.
Yet our lessons come from the JOURNEY,
NOT the DESTINATION.”
 Don Williams, Jr.
(American Novelist and Poet, b.1968)

“Focus on the JOURNEY, not THE DESTINATION.
Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it.”
 Greg Anderson
American best-selling Author
Founder of the American Wellness Project.,
b.1964

“Let your mind start a journey through a strange new world.
Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before.
Let your soul take you where you long to be…
Close your eyes let your spirit start to soar,
And you’ll live as you’ve never lived before.”
Erich Fromm
German born American
Social Philosopher and Psychoanalyst,

“It is good to have an end to a JOURNEY toward;
but it is the JOURNEY that matters, in the end”
 Ursula K. LeGuin

“Too often we are so preoccupied
with the DESTINATION,
we forget the JOURNEY.”
